A first for me...

I made my first political donation today. I have never ever done that before; never cared enough AND never had enough money to do it. Yes, that's right, I didn't even have $25 to donate. But today I just felt very strongly that my donation could make a small difference and that I wanted to make that difference, so out came the debit card and voila - I have donated. I 'own a piece' of the campaign!!! LOL

She's a Hottie - Thanks for objectifying women Toby Keith!

I especially like the part about how you plucked your sweet little thang off the farm, dressed her up like she's a goddamn doll, and hung her sweet ass off your arm.

Nobody objectifies a woman better than Toby Keith!!! Lucky you! It's a skill you can take to the bank, apparently, Toby.

I actually like Toby Keith. I just feel a little pissy. But I am right, even so.

Our Alliance With Saudi Arabia Is Disgusting

Look at what they do to women! What is wrong with us? Even Iran treats women better!
Oh yes that's right...we're trying to avoid $4.00 a gallon gas prices so our fat a$$es don't have to walk anywhere! SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS.

You know what? GOD DAMN AMERICA! We're fucking disgusting when we support shit like this. Gotta love how capitalism worships the fuckin dollar.

Saudi women 'kept in childhood'

Saudi women in Hofuf
Women cannot make even simple decisions on children, the report says

Saudi women are being kept in perpetual childhood so male relatives can exercise "guardianship" over them, the Human Rights Watch group has said.

The New York-based group says Saudi women have to obtain permission from male relatives to work, travel, study, marry or even receive health care.

Their access to justice is also severely constrained, it says.

The group says the Saudi establishment sacrifices basic human rights to maintain male control over women.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are not allowed to drive.

Saudi clerics see the guardianship of women's honour as a key to the country's social and moral order.

'No progress'

The report, Perpetual Minors: Human Rights Abuses Stemming from Male Guardianship and Sex Segregation in Saudi Arabia, draws on more than 100 interviews with Saudi women.

Farida Deif, women's rights researcher for the Middle East at Human Rights Watch, said: "Saudi women won't make any progress until the government ends the abuses that stem from these misguided policies."

It's astonishing that the Saudi government denies adult women the right to make decisions for themselves but holds them criminally responsible for their actions at puberty

Farida Deif,
Human Rights Watch

The report says that Saudi women are denied the legal right to make even trivial decisions for their children - women cannot open bank accounts for children, enrol them in school, obtain school files or travel with their children without written permission from the child's father.

Human Rights Watch says that Saudi women are prevented from accessing government agencies that have no established female sections unless they have a male representative.

The need to establish separate office spaces for women is a disincentive to hiring female employees, and female students are often relegated to unequal facilities with unequal academic opportunities, the report says.

Male guardianship over adult women also contributes to their risk of exposure to violence within the family as victims of violence find it difficult to seek protection or redress from the courts.

Social workers, physicians and lawyers say that it is nearly impossible to remove guardianship from male guardians who are abusive, the group says.

"It's astonishing that the Saudi government denies adult women the right to make decisions for themselves but holds them criminally responsible for their actions at puberty," said Ms Deif.

"For Saudi women, reaching adulthood brings no rights, only responsibilities."

OK...so why are you getting so political on me all of a sudden? If we would have done this my way we would not be in this mess. I have always wanted a parking lot in Iraq....

>>>I don't know. One day I just started caring about politics again. Weird. It seems that things are sucking these days and I'm tired of this world sucking.

By the way, you do realize that Iraqis kinda like their country and that Iraq is the home of Mesopotamia, a very historically important part of the world, right?

Withdrawal of Troops From Iraq

Last night Hillary and Barack had a debate...

..."And Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama said that as president, they would execute promises to begin the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, even if their military commanders at the time advised them that it would be wiser to keep troops on the ground."

This quote is straight out of the New York Times. Here is a link: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/us/politics/17debate.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1&th&emc=th

I really like Barack Obama, but this is probably one of the stupidest things that a president could do. Who do they think will fill the void that we leave?

There are many answers. As in Afghanistan, it could be radical Muslims like the Taliban, who claimed that the missiles and bombs that routed the Russians out of their country were sent by God when in fact they were paid for and shipped there by the United States. The Taliban filled the void we left when that country was left with a population of poor, uneducated kids to run it, after the US provided bombs but not education or any other aid to help that country rebuild. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And then what do we find ourselves doing years later? Fighting the terrorists that that situation helped create; that our own short sightedness created.

And let's not forget that Iran would love to form a strong partnership with Iraq. Oh and did I mention that Iran is not a fan of the United States? And isn't Russia a friend of Iran's? And aren't they also not fans of the US?

WHY DON'T WE JUST GO GET A GUN AND SHOOT OURSELVES WHILE WE'RE AT IT? Cause THAT'S what doing this would do to us!

I wish the American public were not so stupid and fickle. As soon as the Iraq war became real, as soon as it was no longer entertaining, but dirty and murderous, which is the reality of war, the American public suddenly no longer wanted to fight the war. WE ARE LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN! And we should be ashamed of ourselves.

Maybe we shouldn't have gone into Iraq, but that was what the American public wanted, so that's what we got. Now that it no longer serves as entertainment, we want to just abandon the citizenry of Iraq. We want to stop rebuilding the country we helped destroy. Rebuilding stuff isn't fun, is it? Not nearly as entertaining. Right my fellow Americans?

Anyone who thinks Obama's Religion is Relevant in this Race is Stupid.

If I get one more email from my conservative friends about how Obama is a closet Muslim, I will scream. Or implode. I'd rather implode than explode. It would be rude for everyone to get covered in guts.

People are SO STUPID. Who gives a fuck if Obama is a Muslim? IT'S INAPPROPRIATE TO EVEN ASK THIS QUESTION. Just like JFK's religion was irrelevant, so is Obama's. Shit, maybe it would be GOOD if he were Muslim, because maybe we'd have a better relationship with the Middle East. Maybe our country would get a better understanding of where these folks are coming from.

Oh wait...that wouldn't really work, since terrorism is not about religion but is actually about economics and America's fucked up foreign policy. Islam's got nothing to do with it, aside from being used as a tool by some psychos to get disillusioned young men and women to hate the immoral Americans.

Good God people...THINK. Don't just suck up whatever the media and propaganda artists (is there an actual difference?) tell you!
